We Love Her:
Interview With Cover Model Ivy
MNF: How long have you been with MnFinest?
Ivy: 2 years
MNF: Two years? That’s a long time. So you’re one of the originals then?
Ivy: Ha ha, I guess you could say that.
MNF: So, what kinds of things have you done showbiz wise?
Ivy: I was very involved with the MN film board when I was younger, and I did quite a bit of extra’s work for films that were shot here. Recently, I have been focused more on fashion modeling.
MNF: That’s pretty impressive. What was your favorite?
Ivy: I would say being an extra for Jingle all the way was fun cause I met Arnold.
MNF: Arnold, pre-governor. Nice. What projects are you currently working on?
Ivy: Currently, I am a national spokes model for a few different companies. I travel with them for events, which is great for networking, and to get me out of the cold winters!
MNF: Other than modeling, what do you do for a living?
Ivy: I am graduating from Carlson School of Business at the University of MN next week actually! Very excited to open a new chapter of my life as a graduate. Currently, I am a VIP manager at a nightclub downtown, and that is a really fun job so I’m not rushing into anything else too quickly.
MNF: What do you think of the downtown Minneapolis scene?
Ivy: I think its growing at a rapid rate. I love to see all the new hotels, restaurants and clubs opening. We have definitely cultivated an upscale market for food and entertainment.
MNF: For sure, it’s Minnesota’s finest, ha ha.
Ivy: Nice plug.
MNF: You know it, ha ha. So what ticks you off?
Ivy: I hate bad service at restaurants.
Any turn-ons?: Turn-ons would be a great and unique sense of style, and confidence as well as someone who can be a slob if need be. Sometimes I don’t want to get dolled up, and having constant pressure to is not cool with me.
MNF: Turn offs?
Ivy: Turn off’s would be no ambition, lazy and argumentative.
MNF: So, is there a special someone?
Ivy: Yes
MNF: What are your future ambitions?
Ivy: I plan on seeing what opportunities arise after graduation.
MNF: What are you currently working on?
Ivy: Currently, I own a staffing agency, and I do a fair amount of business monthly through that. Perhaps, I will bring it to the next level and focus all my energy on it.
MNF: That’s really impressive. I had no idea you were so accomplished. Is this where you thought you’d be at this point in your life?
Ivy: I’m definitely happy where I am right now; I just bought a beautiful loft downtown, am graduated, in a great relationship, and have an interesting job. So far so good, but I jumped through a lot of difficult hoops to get here.
MNF: Superwoman over here, ha ha. Seems like it certainly paid off. So, how do you feel about your cover shoot? What was it like shooting in your closet, and where’d that idea come from?
Ivy: Ha! Actually the idea was mine. I have a very large closet; it actually was the second bedroom that I converted to a closet. I just thought it would be a different look then most images, something more personal and unique.
MNF: Describe your most interesting photo shoot, if it wasn’t this one.
Ivy: Well probably shooting for a clothing line that rented out an IKEA, in a suburb of California. We shot all over the showroom floor and mockups of bedrooms etc…it was my first time at an Ikea, (this was many years ago) so I was bewildered by it.
MNF: Where did the “Ivy: We love her!” reference come from? Something about First Ave.? How’d that make you feel?
Ivy: Well if it’s what I’m thinking then it’s about the shouts I got on top of First Ave for the MNF calendar and DVD shoot. It certainly was a great feeling to not have obscenities yelled at me, and when you’re prancing around in lingerie in front of hundreds of people I figured that was bound to happen. Turns out Minnesotans are very cool and only shouted nice things! No haters in the Midwest.
MNF: What is your Minnesota connection? Are you from here; how long have you lived here?
Ivy: Born and raised, grew up by lake Harriet. Love Minnesota, there’s things I would like to see change but we have a rich cultural scene and entertainment scene as well as amazing people so I’m proud to say I’m from here.
MNF: Awesome. Thanks for your time, Ivy.
